Platform : PC / STEAM Duration of the internships : 2 & 3 months Role : System designer
Godhood is a strategic auto-battler allowing you to create your own cult and make it grow. To do so, you must develop your community in order to spread your ideology. This game is heavily system driven. Being a god, you can only have an indirect impact on the way your religion thrives. You can influence the way your acolytes evolve and come up with synergies between them, but they will fight on their own.

This first internship was a fantastic opportunity. The project was in an advanced production stage, so I had all the tools available to iterate on the systems. The working environment was also great, my coworkers being trustful and stimulating. They gave me lots of autonomy and responsability. I was able to work on various aspects of the game.
The studio is located in the Netherlands. It was a great challenge to talk about complex subjects, justify my opinions and even sometimes negotiate with the rest of the team in English only. I lived in Amsterdam and Utrecht, which was an opportunity for me to dive into a different culture and to get used to a brand new environment.

The studio welcomed me again the next summer over a 3 months period. The game had progressed a lot. My main tasks were to work on the balance and to create some content for the upcoming release of the 1.0 version. I couldn't move to the Netherlands because of the Covid-19 outbreak, so I had to rely on teleworking. It was a great opportunity to improve my autonomy and my self-management.
