Platform : Board Game       Duration of the project : 8 months       Role : Game Designer & Project Leader

     Morte Nera is a historically inspired boardgame imagining a plague epidemic in Florence during the Renaissance. Each player embodies one of the four major noble families of Italy and has to take over the weakened city while surviving to the spreading disease.

      To do so they have to discover the cure or be the last one standing. The players can manage units on the board, capture quarters, manage ressources and play around the spreading plague.

MY TASKS :

  • co-designed a concept and mechanics linked to a historical background

  • balanced the system throughout the project

  • organized playtest sessions to spot flaws in the experience proposed by the game

  • maintained efficient communication between graphists and designers
